Another Year of Adventure C-H by Nashoba Hostina

Happy Burfday doodle for you, Wolfsjal! I know it's not much, but I swear, I'll have something GOOD drawn for you after school lets out. It's been a weird sort of year, and I'm sorry things haven't always been so great. But I know the next year's gonna be awsome.

Wolfsjal and I both Love Calvin and Hobbes, and regularly joke about our friends and us being up in a tree house. I figured that Wolfsjal would be Hobbes, because one, she's way taller than I am, but for another, she's awesome, just like Hobbes.

Calvin and Hobbes (C) Bill Watterson, Wolfsjal and Nashoba copyrite their respective owners.

Medium: Marker
Tags: wolf
Hyena Prayer Feather by Nashoba Hostina

So... I painted this over a year ago. I'm surprised, I think I could do SO much better now.
Happy Easter (Or, whichever springtime holiday you prefer)!

So... I'm going to hell for making Easter Eggs like this. Remember, your Easter eggs wouldn't exist if it weren't for some very talented dinosaurs.

This is the only egg I'll post here. The rest don't really apply to the gallery XD

Medium: egg dye, some watercolor and pencil
Tags: dinosaur easter dino egg Deinonychus
Shedding Sin by Nashoba Hostina

"When the change comes... I shed my sin more so than my skin."

In old werewolf legends, it was said that the lycanthrope could turn its skin inside out, and that the fur would be underneath the human dermis. Many suspected werewolves were cut open in search of this inside out fur, and supposedly was never successful.

As it turns out, a Ragarog werewolf's fur grows beneath the skin, which peels away. These werewolves lose a lot more of their human mental selves when in this state than Grahll do, but are not monsters. They behave in a rather lupine matter… and, when they shed their skin, they are suddenly supplied with a large bit of protein to sate their appetite the instant they are done shapeshifting.

Anyway, another breed of werewolf, but not my favorite. There's a lot of biodiversity in my own little fantasy world.

Pablo, the Cubist Coyote by Nashoba Hostina

I Recently found it interesting when one person asked if I did cartoon work, or realistic.

It then occurred to me that those are often the two schools of the furry fandom. The cartoonists and the realists. I haven't seen any impressionist fursonas... No futurists really... no cubist characters. Which I suppose isn't surprising, since I don't get out of my little corner much... regardless, other schools of art aren't very common in the furry fandom.

However, because of that question, I invented this character... I tried to build him so that he'd still seem to work in a real setting, yet still demonstrate the cubist asthetic.

::Laughs:: If I were rich, I'd likely build a suit of him.

Sometime, I plan on doing a Fauve Fox.

Medium: Marker
Tags: coyote cubist
Nashba 3-D Conbadge by Nashoba Hostina

All other 3-D conbadges will go in my Sketches and Conbadges Gallery. I thought this was worth posting in this one though.

*3D conbadges do not fall under my normal conbadge prices. They start at $45*

Good Grief. I'd kind of been hoping to have this done in time for FC, but with all the other things I've had piled up, didn't even get close to getting it done. Hopefully I'll get to some of my other unorthodox conbadge projects soon.

Anyway, 3D Conbadges include the original conbadge(which has some distortion in the initial image due to forced perspective) done on bristol, as well as a three level 3D badge made using computer prints, meant to be displayed back-to back as a double-sided conbadge.

Medium: marker and colored pencil
Tags: wolf con badge werewolf Three Nashoba Hostina Laila 3 dimentional

Three Wise Net Owls by Nashoba Hostina

Yet another idea that's been kicking around in my brain for ages. Somehow the internet owls "O Rly?, Ya Rly!" and "No Wai!" just seems to need to be meshed with the three wise monkies in my mind.
Inescapable Companion by Nashoba Hostina

Everyone has their own Personal Daemons. Few realize just how literal that term is.

I've restarted on my book. Well, actually, now books. In my never ending project, somehow a simple field guide I came up with in highschool has grown into plans for three field guides and a novel.

Anyway... here's myself (baaaad drawing of myself) and WilliaM. I couldn't help giving a tip-of-the-hat to an anime I enjoy... who knows which one?

Medium: pencil
Tags: demon William
Badgerdrake by Nashoba Hostina

The badgerdrake is a peculiar member of the draconian family. It lives in burrows in forests, particularly the rare grassland woods. It prefers riverbanks, where it knows prey animals will come to drink.

This draconian is small, only about a meter at the shoulder. However, he’s very sturdily built, a body well suited for burrowing through any type of soil.

Because of its primarily subterranean lifestyle, the creature’s wings have nearly vanished. Usually, this structure lies flat, however, they usually flare them out when alarmed, or as a dominance gestuture, in an attempt to look bigger.

Medium: colored pencil and marker
Tags: dragon drakebadger
This was done in Tess's sketchbook at the ArtSpots jam... she had made a blot of color on the paper, and asked people to draw what they saw in it.

The Jam was so much fun... thank you all!

Nashoba -- Scarves by Nashoba Hostina

The softest scarf I've ever owned was knitted by Westly at http://community.livejournal.com/wolfspiderknits/profile
I wear it whenever it's bitter outside (and, being an Ohioan, that's often).

I miss doing comic strips like I did in highschool. I can whip one out in a lot less time than a page, doing COTN just seems so daunting at the moment, what with so many credit hours and my job and everything. I really miss doing them though. I just gotta keep telling myself, that school'll be done by the end of the year. Then I can start focusing on my OWN art, not the tripe they have me make for a grade.

Medium: Micron /digital toner
Tags: wolf scarf comic strip werewolf Nash Nashoba Hostina Laila
