So... I painted this over a year ago. I'm surprised, I think I could do SO much better now. Anyway... it's a happy hyena, on a guinea fowl feather, wrapped in leather with a bone handle, adorned with wooden beads and hyena fur.

What I really like about this is the fact that you chose to keep your colors similar to the ones that are already on the feather. It makes me want to stare at it even more. I would imagine that it would catch someone's eye, and they'd do a double-take because they would realize that there is a lovely painting on it. : )
I've seen other artists paint on feathers, and this is one of my favorites, IMHO.

::Nods:: Depending on the feather, I try to make it so that the painting either contrasts, or blends in. I've done a lot of feathers, and usually they're more like this...
